Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)
About the role
The Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a hands-on AI implementation specialist embedded within client or operational environments to lead the deployment and adoption of TP.ai FAB solutions. This is the senior technical owner of a FAB deployment and the primary technical point of contact for the client, combining deep technical acumen, agile problem-solving, and field collaboration to adapt FAB products and microservices to real-world processes through configuration, integration, and supported customization. Delivery is achieved within the product's supported extension points; the role does not fork the core FAB codebase or modify core product architecture.
What you will do
- Conduct on-site discovery sessions to map business workflows and identify AI integration opportunities, and lead technical scoping conversations with senior client stakeholders
- Configure and customize FAB applications to fit operational constraints, favoring configuration over custom code, and rapidly prototype solutions to demonstrate impact in pilot phases
- Design and validate integrations, APIs, and workflows connecting FAB services with client systems
- Deploy FAB AI and digital components — APIs, models, microservices — in live environments
- Build and maintain secure data pipelines, model guardrails, and monitoring dashboards, including LLM observability, tracing, and output-quality evaluation
- Deploy and troubleshoot real-time voice and audio pipelines end to end — speech-to-text, noise cancellation, and audio device/capture configuration
- Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Data teams on responsible AI implementation, including data-residency and GDPR obligations
- Set delivery standards for the team — testing, documentation, handover — and mentor mid-level Forward Deployed Engineers
- Train end-users and operational teams on new workflows, track success metrics, and develop reusable deployment playbooks
- Capture insights from real-world deployments and work with Product and Engineering to feed back product gaps and enhancement needs
What we are looking for
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software, solutions, or integration engineering, including substantial time in client-facing delivery, consulting, or professional services
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced certifications in Cloud, Data Engineering, or AI Solution Delivery preferred
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end enterprise deployments as the senior technical point of contact for a client
- Hands-on production experience with GenAI/LLM systems — RAG, prompt engineering, and agentic or orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph or LangChain (equivalent frameworks accepted)
- Multi-cloud and cloud-migration experience, and hands-on experience with speech and real-time audio pipelines (STT, noise cancellation, virtual audio devices)
- Experience implementing LLM observability and evaluation tooling in production (for example Langfuse or equivalent)
- Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Node.js, and a strong command of APIs, microservices, containers, and integration patterns
- Working experience with data pipelines (ETL/ELT and streaming) and data-residency/GDPR obligations in cloud deployments
- Entrepreneurial mindset, excellent stakeholder communication, and comfort delivering within a fixed product architecture rather than solving gaps with per-client code

The team
You will work within TP.ai's Forward Deployed Engineering practice, partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams and mentoring mid-level FDEs on your deployments.
